It’s already that time for to think back on all my August favourites. It feels like 2018 is flying by in the blink of an eye! I have thoroughly enjoyed our summer in the U.K. this year. I have definitely enjoyed long lazy summer days and evenings.
I had a week off work which coincided with the Bank Holiday weekend so I actually got 10 days off in total. A lot of my holiday is in the second half of the year so I really appreciated the down time!
I have had time to rest, go for walks and naps. Even when I have time off work I’m always trying to fit in everyone and activities for the family so it was nice to have some real time out.
I have loved having an actual summer however I have also appreciated a slightly cooler temperature through August. The trains were no fun at all when it was really hot.
I have had a catch up with some friends which I always love to do. I love catching up and finding out what’s being going on on my friends life. It can be quite tricky to get together as we all have commitments or families to juggle around, so any time together is appreciated.
One of my closest friends had a baby and he was delightful to hold. I am already looking forward to being part of his life and celebrating his milestones.
I have really stuck at eating healthier and so far have lost just over 1 stone. This month I have definitely felt the benefits of this. Sometimes the best moments are not about what the scales say, they are when you can walk a little bit quicker or a piece of jewellery fits again!
I spent some time going through the background of my blog and reading up on how to improve what the content I’m producing. I want this blog to be somewhere people enjoy visiting and being part of a community. This also have me some time out to put together some plans for September and October content too so keep an eye out for that.
I love September and it’s my absolute favourite time of the year. With this in mind I have set myself a mini challenge for September. Every day throughout the month I’m going to do an act of self care for myself and will be using the hashtag #septselfcare if you want to join in with me or just follow along.
I think self care is really essential for people to feel good about themselves. It’s not always about bubble baths although sometimes that is just what you need. I do believe that everyone should do something to feel good everyday.
How do you practice self care?
