Mid 2018 reflections

Leeds Liverpool Canal

Hello you beautiful people!  I have had a little break and I want to say  thank you for still being here. I needed a little time to think about what I wanted to do with my corner of the internet, so now I am back full of ideas and motivation, with a clearer sense of direction and what I want to write about. It is so easy to compare yourself to other bloggers and think you should be writing about the same things. Not to say what other bloggers write isn’t good or doesn’t inspire me. For me I  want this blog to be true to my voice and hopefully produce content that you will love.

I have taken some time to reflect on 2018 so far and the goals I set myself. As you may remember at the start of 2018 I wrote a post about my intention of the year, which was Slowing Down and Finding the Joy.  I have definitely reaped the benefits of taking this approach to 2018! It’s funny I  knew at the start of the year that if I didn’t change something then I was heading for burn out and then I had 3 months of feeling like crap. I had to slow down because my body was not giving me any other option. Fast forward to mid July and I feel so much better for it. I would say it was May time when I started to feel well again. Until this year I have never really appreciated the difference between feeling well and feeling just ok.

What’s next in 2018

When I sat and thought about what I wanted from the next 6 months, the word that immediately sprang to my mind was change. At first I wasn’t sure as I had felt so tired however once I had thought about it, it made sense. By spending time slowing down I had let myself regain energy and could see what I wanted to do next. I  noticed that change seemed to be happening around me. In the next few weeks I have a big change at work with an office relocation which is going to extend my work day a little. I will also be working in a building where I started my career at 18 years old!

Another change which has happened is I have taken control of my diet. I am eating much healthier and drinking lots of water. I must admit it is already making me feel so much better. For me an important step in handling change is to understand how you can make it work for you. I feel excited about what the rest of the year may bring as I know it is going to all be positive!

I also have an Instagram account where I will be capturing any changes and snippets from my day to day life.
