Spa Day

I decided to treat myself to the ultimate self care with a spa day. It had been a little while since I had done anything like this so I really felt like I needed a pamper session.

It was at the Imagine Spa at Hazlewood Castle in Tadcaster. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and once you come off the bypass you really feel like you are in the middle of the country.

The spa experience is called a mud serial treatment. Although I had an idea, I wasn’t 100% what the treatment involved. You sit in a steam room with different sensory lights whilst covering yourself from head to toe in a mud treatment. As the steam room is in it’s own private room you can nip out and get a drink of water when it gets a little too warm, which I definitely needed to do. For the last 10 minutes you have a raindrop shower which washes away any remaining mud. Afterwards my skin felt so smooth and soft, it really felt like it had had some TLC.

It was so lovely and because I had gone with a friend we used the chance to relax and have a good old catch up and natter about what was going on with us and our lives. It really felt like we had some real quality girlie time which is always a mood booster for me.

We then had a glass of Prosecco whilst sat in the relaxation room. I felt so relaxed that I could have easily had a little nap. It was so nice to have some time out, away from devices, news and life for those couple of hours. I think it’s so important for everyone to have some time out to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

We decided to finish our day off with an afternoon tea whilst satin a drawing room. Crustless sandwiches are always a winner with me especially when there is a big fat scone with lots of jam and cream.

Now onto the cost… I totally appreciate that spa days can be expensive and that not everyone is able to afford it and to be honest If I hadn’t found a good deal it’s not something I can regularly do. I found this deal through the Treatwell website which do discounted facials, massages and spa days.

The experience was already reduced to £44 which I think was half price. I also found a discount code and managed to get a further £12 off so it we paid £16 each. We upgraded our experience to include afternoon tea which was £10 each. I wouldn’t have paid full price for the day to be honest. I did feel that for £26 each I had got good value for money.

Afterwards I felt so relaxed and amazing that it is something I definitely want to budget in for however I will keep looking for good packages and discount offers.
